Safe Kids Colorado, led by Children’s Hospital Colorado, is a partnership of statewide and regional organizations dedicated to preventing unintentional injuries to Colorado children from birth to 19 years old. Safe Kids Colorado is a member of Safe Kids Worldwide, a global network of more than 600 coalitions and chapters nationwide, including 19 member countries.
The Safe Kids Colorado state office provides support to local Safe Kids coalitions and chapters in the state and utilizes a combination of education, research, advocacy and media to prevent accidental injury in children. Our passion is to help you and your family to be safe.
Safe Kids Colorado Springs and Safe Kids Denver Metro are local coalitions also led by Children's Hospital Colorado. Safe Kids Colorado Springs serves El Paso County, while Safe Kids Denver Metro reaches the five-county Denver metropolitan area (Adams, Arapahoe, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson counties).
Both coalitions are comprised of dedicated public and private partners, including hospitals, non-profit organizations, schools, law enforcement, fire services, emergency medical services, public health, Head Start, parents and caregivers and many others who share a common mission of preventing unintentional injuries in children.
Both Safe Kids coalitions work to prevent childhood injuries by focusing on protecting kids at disproportionate risk for preventable injuries through the following initiatives:
