The Patricia Crown Family T(w)een Zone is a safe, therapeutic healing environment with the mission to meet the needs of our older patients and their families who face injury or illness in our hospital. Under the leadership and expertise of Child Life, the T(w)een Zone is a special space to provide a place of belonging to tweens and teens, allowing them to be themselves and foster peer relationships.

A special spot for tweens and teens to be themselves

The T(w)een Zone is a space just for tweens and teens (kids 10 years and older) within the hospital. Patients and their siblings can enjoy this state-of-the-art, 3,000-square-foot lounge that offers a variety of activities.

Located on the second floor of the hospital, the exclusive zone gives tweens, teenagers and young adults a place to relax and be themselves. Amenities in the T(w)een Zone include:

  • Craft area with a custom-built art table
  • Gaming area with a Play Station 4, X-Box One and a Wii U with a variety of video game options
  • Music room with a juke box
  • Reading room
  • Kitchen
  • Basketball arcade hoop
  • Pool table
  • Splatter paint art room
  • Skype room
  • Internet cafe with a 3D printer that can be used with a Child Life Specialist
  • Big-screen movie theater with movable seats to accommodate hospital beds and medical gas hook-ups

The T(w)een Zone staff invite you to stop by and hang out!
