Be a part of the Seacrest Studios Internship Program

Interns gain an in-depth experience in broadcasting, programming and operations of a multimedia studio. 

Interns play a key role in the daily operations and programming in our Seacrest Studios at Children's Hospital Colorado.

We’re currently seeking students enrolled in local universities who are pursuing careers in broadcasting, journalism, and technical communication by offering internship opportunities with the Seacrest Studios at Children’s Colorado. This unique, hands-on internship program allows students to gain in-depth experience in broadcasting, programming and operation of a multimedia studio in a fun and supportive environment. 

Seacrest Studios Internship expectations and objectives

Student interns with Seacrest Studios will be provided the unique opportunity to develop and perform on-air broadcasts, both individually and in teams; working to create entertaining, engaging and educational content for the patients and their families.
Student interns will be expected to learn and contribute to daily studio operations including:

  • Program research and development (for both radio and TV formats)
  • Video/photo shooting/editing and audio recording/editing/mixing
  • Writing (script writing and copywriting)
  • Graphic design/layout and associated software operation
  • Patient interaction via interviews, shows, games, celebrity visit preparation and prize runs
  • Celebrity Visits
  • Student interns will be exposed to industry-standard technology such as Adobe Creative Cloud Complete software (Premiere Pro, Lightroom, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), BSI Op-X, SAS mixing console, Canon DSLR system (for both stills and video), Avid Pro Tools, Vox Pro, and all related operation and processes.

Student interns are allowed and encouraged to use content and programming they generated in a demo reel of their work to aid in resume-building.

How to apply for an Internship with Seacrest Studios at Children’s Colorado

Interested students are required to submit an application (.docx). 

Children’s Colorado will be responsible for selecting interns based on application submission and a formal interview.

All selected interns must comply with all pre-internship requirements:

  • Background check
  • Drug screen
  • Immunizations records

Internship length and hours

The Seacrest Studios at Children's Hospital Colorado Internship is for credit and will vary in length (depending on the requirements of the educational institution).

  • Student interns will generally be required to complete 10-15 hours weekly throughout the internship period in the studio.
  • Student interns may be scheduled during broadcast and non-broadcast hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with additional “special event” hours possible on weekends for celebrity visits, concerts, etc.
